Complications en chirurgie orale : aspects médico-légaux et données épidémiologiques

Abstract : During each step of an oral surgery procedure, the dental surgeon may encounter many complications that he will need to know how to manage and which are of varying severity. The prevention of these complications is essential, it is based among other things on the knowledge of the anatomy of the oro-facial sphere which is an essential prerequisite for the practice of oral surgery. In addition, the evolution of the law has increased the liability of dental surgeons.
The aim of this work is to highlight the need for regular updating of the patient’s medical record, including basic information (overall health, administrative data, signed and dated estimate, radiographs, free and informed consent, emails between correspondents, etc.) as well as the need for a clear and omprehensive explanation of risks, all this in order to rule out the possible questioning of the practitioner.
