Abstract : Introduction: the pharmaceutical industry significantly influences all the actors of the healthcare system. In order to make the doctors aware of her influence, and under the impetus of the Department of General Medicine at the University of Bordeaux, a project emerged in 2016: Facripp, who quickly became part of the teaching of the Bordeaux General Medicine DES. By experimenting with an e-learning format, the aim is to standardize the teaching to all health professionals, from the initial training to the continuing education. Method: a qualitative study, including individual semi-directed interviews, was carried out with private general practitioners, hospital practitioners and interns in specialties other than general medicine. Data have been analyzed by thematic clustering. Results: all the participants are interested in training that would cover the basics of the pharmaceutical industry, in particular promotion and influence techniques. The e-learning format seems to respond to the desire for a short and non-time-consuming training. Despite a significant presence of the pharmaceutical industry in their medical practice, mainly through training, the majority of participants did not feel influenced. One questions remain on the possibility of integrating a new training course (dreading time-consuming), as well as the e-learning format (difficulty in handling the computer tool, lack of interaction). Conclusion: the feeling of invulnerability, undeniable and constant in all three populations studied, prompted the urgent and widespread implementation of awareness training.
The compulsory nature of this education seems to us to be a major means of action for medical independence. The emergence and visibility of such training now depends on the willingness of universities, university hospitals and our decision-making bodies to adopt a real policy of transparency and independence from the pharmaceutical industry.
