La Professionnalisation du savoir expérientiel

Abstract : From the testimony of 10 subjects socializing their experiential knowledge on disease or disability, this work proposes to build a definition of the professionalization of patient partnership in medico-social structures in France. If the founding element is the experience of living with illness or disability, it is insufficient to lead to professionalization. Gaining a perspective on experience leaving a space available for reflection on this knowledge is essential in order to move towards professionalization. This reflection involves training, combining constructive discussions with other peers, transmission of other experiential knowledge, know-how and academic knowledge that allow the subject to acquire a dynamic and continuous reflective reading of the experience anchored in the living. This engaging work is driven by a vocation turned towards mutual aid and the promotion of participatory democracy in health among the patient-partners interviewed. On this breeding ground, salaried professions emerge and statutes are sketched out through, for example, job descriptions created by the ARS, accompanied by a planned budget despite structural difficulties making the remuneration of patient-partners sometimes difficult, sometimes impossible. The partnership-patient activity goes beyond these frameworks of interventions, neither the remuneration nor the statute defines the professionalization of the patient-partners. The most salient specificity in this evolution towards their professionalization is its symbolic posture in the structure and with the accompanied subject to whom it is a question of proposing a help or a "peer" support which it takes or not. This particular development in the professionalization of patient-partners raises questions about the relationship to the work of individuals; from work to livelihoods, competitiveness and productivity in society.
