Stéréotypes de genre au cycle 3 : l’impact d’un projet interdisciplinaire

Abstract : This dissertation deals with gender equality in elementary school. Indeed, it has been demonstrated that school has an impact on gender stereotypes. The experimentation involved literature with the study of an emancipated woman of the 19th Century; the writing with the realization of presentations on important women of history and moral and civic education based on equality between girls and boys in general. The main objective is to reduce gender stereotypes that students may have by showing them an egalitarian division of works based on gender. For this purpose, the initial representations of the students will be collected and compared at different moments of the experiment. They will also be compared with the representations of students from other classes who did not participate in this interdisciplinary project. The results show that only the literature sequence is not sufficient and that the interdisciplinary project has a real added value. The impact of this project on girls' gender stereotypes is more important than on boys' stereotypes. Eventually, the project has a strong impact in the short term but attenuates in the long term. Therefore, it is necessary to place gender equality at the heart/crux of professional practice.
