Never letting go of the past : Kazuo Ishiguro's Never Let Me Go as a dystopian story of recollection

This memoire is meant to discuss how memory builds one’s identity, the peculiarity of Kazuo Ishiguro’s dystopia, and how the narrative can be manipulated in order to escape reality or create a different one. Via the narrative and the content of her memories, Kathy, the narrator of Never Let Me Go, was able to overcome her situation as a clone, a simple copy of someone, in order to become an individual with a mind of her own, and quests for truth of her own.
