In response to the ever-increasing demand for participation, digital participation devices are becoming increasingly numerous. Often grouped together under the name Civic-Tech, they now cover a wide range of activities, from museum participation to support for innovation, and of course citizen participation. These devices are part of a set of tools known to all, the Internet and the Web, and are based on functionalities specific to the participative Web, aiming at the contribution of users. The present work aims to analyse the strategies of innovation actors when they mobilise a digital participation device in order to see, if so, where, when, and why these strategies come into conflict with the ideals of the participatory Web.
