This work offers a reflection about the therapeutic impact of the approach of otherness in psychomotricity therapy. It was achieved through a clinical study alongside patients from a migrant background in a prison environment. Theoretical perspectives, originating from anthropology and phenomenology, shed a light on the impact of the emprisonment towards the subject corporeality and identity. The therapeutic relationship is therefore affected. The study of the concept of otherness, from a clinical and theorical point of view, is an indication that offers therapeutic leverage. It seems to encourage the care relationship in the prison environment and allows openness to the patient, toward themselves and others. This study lies at the core of the psychomotor skills and is used in the subject’s mobilisation of the body and the psychomotor’s position.
