Rooted in sociology of education, this work aims to study how university libraries, and more particularly librarians, support the transition from high school pupil to college student, as the fight against failure at university is instituted as a public problem. It examines the evolution of the training sessions. The reconstruction of librarians' professionnal identity for the last twenty years and their perception by teachers and students are explored, while the importance of their educational mission is strengthened.
