From design to experience: the role of architecture in enhancing wine tourism at Bodegas Baigorri
Abstract
This master's thesis explores the impact of Bodegas Baigorri's exceptional architecture and winemaking space on the wine tourism experience. With the development of global wine tourism, wineries have become an integral part of the tourist experience, and their architectural style and design play an important role in attracting tourists and enhancing brand image. Based on close observation of Bodegas Baigorri in Rioja wine region, Spain, during the internship period, it was found that Bodegas Baigorri, with its unique design and innovative gravity flow winemaking process, plays a very important role both as a decisive motivation for tourists to come to visit the winery and to boost the overall satisfaction of the experience. Therefore, using a combination of literature review, on-site observation and visitor survey, this study aims to delve deeper into how architectural design can enhance the visitor experience and to analyze the winery's visitor profiles and tourism patterns under its tourism model.
