La stratégie du SMTC en faveur de l'accessibilité des transports en commun aux personnes à mobilité réduite au regard de la loi du 11 février 2005

Abstract : A recent law of February 2005, entitled law for rights and chances equality, involution citizenship of disabled people founds new duties for transport organisation authorities. For the first time, these duties are supply of compulsory measures. The public transport union of Grenoble agglomeration - the SMTC - leads since half of the eighties an ambitious policy to make public transport accessible for people with reduced mobility: world innovation of the first low-floor trams in 1987, a first bus line declared accessible in 1996. The group consultations with disabled people are the keystone of this development. Year 2006 gives a new boost to accessibility of Grenoble public transport. It means the formalisation of some tools and steering committee and the writing of the urban travel plan 2006-2012 of the Grenoble built-up area. Accessibility is now a part of this document as an annex representing the views of the strategy of the SMTC.
