Allaitement maternel et reprise du travail : le point de vue des femmes

Abstract : Breastfeeding is today recognized as the best nutrition for nemborns. Indeed the biological benefits for the child and his mother are no longer discussed. To this is an added also economic benefit. However, the rate of breastfeeding in France does not match the different European countries. The second cause of stopping breastfeeding is the resumption of work. Our study has collected the experience of women who wished continue to breastfeed while going to work. It showed that the favours socio-economic make easier the continuation of breastfeeding. Women lack information about the fitting out of the Labor Code and ways to continue breastfeeding. Finally, the type of guard influences the continuation of breastfeeding. The extension of maternity leave and accomodation in workplace would lengthen the duration of breastfeeding. Finally, as a healthcare professional, our role is to support these women and to inform them of this possibility.
