Intérêt d'un accompagnement paramédical en complément du suivi médical pour favoriser l'implication des patients dans le suivi des objectifs éducatifs définis lors du diagnostic éducatif dans le diabète de type 2

Abstract : Introduction : Patient education is important for diabetes mellitus type 2 covering. The objective of this study is to estimate the interest of a paramedical support as a supplement to the medical follow-up to favor the implication of the patients in the follow-up of the educational objectives defined during the educational diagnosis. Research design and method : We compared two groups of 40 patients : one with a follow-up personalized and one without, in a retrospective way. Results : The paramedical support improves significantly the implementation of the actions to reach the educational objectives defined during the educational diagnosis. The educational objectives most often fixed were the dietary objectives, the resumption of the physical activity and the collective sessions of education. Discussion : A transfer of tasks of the doctor in the field of the patient education, towards allied health occupations could thus be a solution for a better coverage of diabetes mellitus.
