Conception et optimisation mécanique du transport laser de puissance du futur instrument HED sur l'installation européenne XFEL

Abstract : During my internship at the European XFEL, I designed the delivery system of optical laser beams will be installed at the HED instrument. It will be located in the experimental room of this future particle accelerator. The goal was to design optical mounts as well as supporting structures : frames, vacuum vessel etc., all elements bearing very high stability. Indeed, the 100 mm diameter laser must go through twenty meters, go down one floor, while having, once focused in the experimental chamber, enough temporal stability so as to secure that the focal point moves from shot to shot only within a circle of repeatability of 2 microns.In order to fulfill all these conditions, I simultaneously carried out the designing of different mechanical assemblies while also producingmodal analysis. With this method, I was able to avoid any coupling between external excitations and optical mounts.
