La dyslexie : connaissances et pratiques des enseignants

Abstract : With one student out of 20 concerned on average, dyslexia is a learning disorder of reading relatively frequent. It is therefore important to consider the knowledge and practices of teachers concerning dyslexia. This document defines the learning to read before explaining the difficulties encountered by certain students in this kind of learning and the role of teachers in their care. It then describes the characteristics of dyslexia, what official texts say about that as well as educational facilities set up by teachers. The results of a survey of 15 teachers are then presented to confirm or invalidate the assumptions. These results show that teachers vaguely know what dyslexia is, which affects their practices in the sense that the methods implemented will sometimes be approximate. The experience of teachers still allows them to easily adapt to these situations. Knowledge and practices of teachers about dyslexia should be developed to enable dyslexic students to acquire learning facilities to allow them to thrive in the classroom but also in society.
