L'éducation spécialisée pour les enfants et adolescents atteints de troubles mentaux et de troubles du comportement : l'exemple des Aubrys, centre médico-pédagogique de 1953 aux années 1980

Abstract : The special education has grown considerably in France since the end of Second World War, allowing creation of many educational structures specialized in particular for children and teenagers affected by beahvioural disorders or by mental deficiencies. In the years 1950-1960, coverage of these minors is made most of the time in boarding school, in an objective of care and, at the same time of school and social reformation. However, this model is questioned since the 1970s, and schooling in ordinary environment is advocated. To seize better the current stakes around the schooling of the handicapped children, this research concentrates on a local example from the archives of the medical educational center of Aubrys founded by the ARSEA of Angers in Sarthe. The study concerns more exactly the life of pupils in the centre and education, dispensed in classes with low number. Several educational methods are favoured to offer pupils an education more adapted to their difficulties.
