Percevoir, subir ou souhaiter la densité dans un territoire en expansion. Le cas de la Haute-Savoie

Abstract : To take into consideration the different types of density with a social or not social point of view and the role this density plays in people’s lives is a current (hot, burning) subject. The density is a phenomenon that continues to increase thanks to the urban sprawl prevention. The urban planning laws restrain more and more in terms of constructability. Since the creation of the law ALUR (Duflot 27th of March 2014), we aren’t anymore thinking with the land use coefficient, but we are thinking with the land use area, which allows to build more widely on the plot taking into account the limit rules. In our contemporary societies, the individual house (detached house) construction is controversial and we are stretching out (tending) for a diversity of building shapes: the verticality and a longer façade linear are coming in. The density perception depends on many factors: the plants, the ambiances, the natural spaces preservation… To not totally abandon urban sprawl phenomenon and the dense city, Paola Viganò and Bernardo Secchi will convince us of the benefits of the porous city.
