Les collectifs participant des mouvements de repaysannisation : quel mode d'habiter le paysage ?

Abstract : The emergence of a repeasantization movement in France has been observed in the recent years. It can be seen in international communities where a lot of different practices are being developed. These neo-farmers represent one of the current illustrations of the several thousand-year-old way of thinking, the agro-pastoral myth. Their commitment is also an answer to the ecological problems of our contemporary society. This Back-To-The-Land movement run by communities, in the so-called “agrarian communities” places, seems to try out a new relationship with our environment: in contrast with the “land exploitation” and the “soil occupation” they seem to “live differently in the landscape” under the terms of Jean-Marc Besse. On the one hand, this essay wonders about the link between the inhabitants of these “agrarian communities” and the landscape that surrounds them and on the other hand it tries to describe the “earth scarring” left by their lives and activities over their environment, i.e. the physical structures that characterize these places. In order to give answers to these issues, a systemic landscape study has been made during immersive stays of a dozen days in five agrarian communities in different French localities.
