Quel nouveau paradigme urbain pour le port Edouard Herriot ? Expérimentation portuaire urbaine dans la vallée du Rhône

Abstract : Harbours have come to become a huge issue for nations in our globalized world. Their former role was to develop countries’ hinterlands, pushed by the powers of creative imagination, but nowadays, the entirely robotrun and self-sufficent new hubs are being built for brand new purpose. The Edouard Herriot Harbour of Lyon is fully prone to become a major inland port, assuming the leading positions of link between two of the world main shipping routes and gate to continental Europe. Nonetheless, hinterlands must remain of significant concern. As a matter of fact, this will undoubtely be addressed due to the urban situation of Lyon. Edouard Herriot can, whithout sacrifying its nature or its privileges, emerge as a multipurpose centre by linking the role of the city and the character of the harbour.
