Chirurgie plastique parodontale minimalement invasive

Abstract : The goal of this thesis is to show clinical improvement brought by minimaly invasive procedures in plastic periodontal surgery particulary for the gingival recession treatment. The first part describes basics principes of periodontal anatomy and structural biology, periodontal aesthetic and defines the great principes of periodontal micro invasive surgery. The second part describes goals and outcomes expected from microsurgical procedures compared with classical surgery procedures particulary for the gingival recession treatment. The third part details tools needed for the achievement of minimaly invasive surgery. The last part describes a root coverage clinical case to treat multiple gingival recession using tunnel technique with subepithelial connective tissue graft. The advances in the periodontal biology understanding, the instrumentation and surgical procedure improvments will allow to treat more patient with less post operative discomfort, more reproducible and aesthetic outcomes.
