Sintobur'i, notre corps et notre terre ne font qu'un : image du nationalisme alimentaire coréen à l'ère de la mondialisation

Abstract : This paper aims at examining the particular relationship between local food practices and nationalism in contemporary South Korea, through the study of political and philosophical basis and impacts of Sintobur’i politics (신토불이 or 身土不二), introduced in Korea by the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation in 1989, as an attempt to promote local and national food products and mobilize the Korean population around food security issues. This study provides an analysis of how Sintobur’i pursues a form of gastronationalism in South Korea.
