Usage du numérique en classe et effets sur la mobilisation chez les élèves de SEGPA

Abstract : This study carried out within a college (junior high school) deals with the utilisation of digital pedagogy in the classroom and its impact on the school engagement of the students in the SEGPA section. The first part of the research aims at studying the evolution of the students' engagement (Fredericks) from the 6 ième to the 3 ième class level, and also the differences to be found between students in a regular classroom and special needs students (SEGPA) who often face severe and long term difficulties. Our results show that students in general, tend to decrease commitment throughout their scolarity with a significant difference between students from the regular high school program and those from the special needs section (SEGPA). These students show much less engagement especially in the cognitive component. The second part of the study deals with studying the effects of digital technology on the factors of their motivation. The results show a positive impact on motivation of self-determination and inherent motivation (Deci & Ryan), on the possiblity of experimenting the state of Flow (Czikszentmihalyi) or also, on the improvement of causal attributions (Weiner). Finally, if a positive effect is proven on emotional and behavioural engagement, it is less proven in the cognitive component.
