Pharmacien BPDO : une nouvelle spécialité pharmaceutique

Abstract : The oxygen is a medicine in its own right. Its prescription is only done under the control of a pharmacist. The Oxygen for a medical purpose is used in diverse areas: Chest medicine, ophthalmology... Thus, the oxygen therapy from home becomes more and more frequent. The role of the pharmacist responsible of BPDO is to put in place a standard of risk management linked to the usage of oxygen from home. A risk analysis is done before providing an oxygen therapy, but only if the treatment should last for at least one month. This analysis is useful to determine whether the pharmacist should visit the patient in the following month of the treatment and to know the frequency of the visits.
