Le temps court au service du temps long : quelle place pour les commerces temporaires dans l'élaboration d'une stratégie de revitalisation des villes moyennes ?

Abstract : With almost a quarter of the French population, jobs and central functions for their pool of life, medium-sized towns represent an important part of the national territory. However, many of them face significant difficulties, particularly in terms of attractiveness. Regarding the commercial aspect, this often results on a multiplication of vacant shops, which tarnish territories’ image. Then, the next consideration will be on the tools which can be used to revitalize those cities, especially with the national program "Action Coeur de Ville", launched in December 2017 by the Minister for Territorial Cohesion. It aims to increase the attractiveness of medium-sized towns’ center. Thanks to their flexibility, temporary shops represent an interesting tool to create a positive dynamic and are a real opportunity of attractiveness. The goal is to see how those actions, on the short term, can contribute to the revitalize territories on the long term.
