Vision de la médecine dans l’œuvre de Gustave Flaubert

Abstract : Gustave Flaubert was born in 1821 and died in 1880. He was a French writer of the nineteenth century. By his social origin and his environment, he was immersed in medicine. His father was a famous Rouen surgeon. His older brother was also a surgeon.. His closest friend went on to study medicine until the boarding school, still in Rouen. Another of his close friends was also a doctor's son. Gustave Flaubert belongs to a century that is all absorbed in the pursuit of "Progress". His era was fascinated by science and revered medicine and is convinced of a better material and health future for man. Europe was a great place for creation and great writers names are still among the best known and most widely read. It is at the appereancet of this century of modernization all that we have undertaken to read and study the work of Gustave Flaubert. The purpose of the research work of this thesis was to verify, through the study of his person, his environment, his time, his work, his thought and his posterity if this work is a faithful reflection and accurate medicine of his time.
