Introduction du langage pictural en classe de FLE : les mécanismes d'empathie comme médiateurs et vecteurs de compétences en littéracies multimodales

Abstract : In this thesis, we propose to study the functioning of mechanisms of empathy with regard to the development for students of multimodal literacies in French language and pictorial language. Designed by the New London group (1996), the pedagogy of Multiliteracies promotes a systemic, translingual and transcultural culture of languages. Our research will focus on defining the median, mediatory and vector role of empathy in the transfer of literacies skills. We will base our analysis on the educational experiment conducted by the teacher around the exhibition “Gauguin l’alchimiste” at Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris 3 University with intermediate level learners. It will be, from a sociolinguistic and phenomenological analysis of written productions, to make explicit internal translingual movement to the development of skills in multimodal literacies to define the precise roles of mechanisms of empathy in this process and the impact of pedagogy of Multiliteracies on written literacy.
