Impact d’une intervention cognitive mobilisant les nouvelles technologies sur la communication des patients Alzheimer au stade léger à modéré. Revue de littérature

Abstract : People with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease have, despite the cognitive decline that characterizes this neurodegenerative disease, some preserved memory skills. The objective for these people is keeping communication skills, by participating in the total or partial preservation of the patient's autonomy in his activities of daily living. The telephone and new technologies, commonly used in everyday life, could be used with these patients as tools for a cognitive intervention. We then hypothesize a link between a specific cognitive intervention using the abilities of procedural memory through new technologies and the improvement of communication in the daily life of patients. A systematic study of the literature proposes to review the intervention possibilities, by highlighting the favouring factors: the earliness of the intervention and the interest for the patient are among the essential elements to be considered, as well as ecological situations, which provide meaning to the activities being worked on. In addition, the proposed (re) learning situation will be defined in terms of frequency and intensity, with multiple and varied entry methods. Also, it is essential to pay attention to the transmitted information content, very dependent on the cognitive level and on the attentional abilities of the patient. Finally, the presence of the caregiver is essential for the proper progress of the rehabilitation, as well as to ensure that the skills acquired over time are maintained.
