Évaluation de la conformité du dépistage du diabète gestationnel en anténatal des patientes accouchant au CHU Grenoble-Alpes

Abstract : Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the compliance rate of gestational diabetes screening made during the pregnancy monitoring, based on the recommendations of the National College of French Gynaecologists and Obstetricians published in 2010. Methods: In this observational, descriptive, retrospective and monocentric study, the data have been collected from the obstetrics records of the patients that gave birth at “l’Hôpital Couple Enfant du Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Grenoble-Alpes” from January 1st to January 15th 2020. In order to assess the compliance of gestational diabetes screening, different screening routes have been established. Results: The study has been done for 83 patients. The prevalence of gestational diabetes was up to 8.4%. 73.5% of the patients got a gestational diabetes screening during their pregnancy, whether it was done in conformity or not with the recommendations of the National College of French Gynecologists and Obstetricians. The conformity rate of gestational diabetes screening indications during the total duration of pregnancy was up to 65.1%. About the fasting blood glucose performed during the first trimester of pregnancy, this test was not prescribed enough if the patients had at least one risk factor of gestational diabetes on pregnancy start. It’s also done while patients have no risk factor. The screening during the first trimester of pregnancy is not enough focused on the risk factor presence. On the contrary, the completion term of fasting blood glucose and the threshold values used for the gestational diabetes diagnosis complied with the recommendations. About the oral glucose tolerance test, it is insufficiently prescribed starting from 24 amenorrhea weeks. But, the indications for carrying out this test are mostly conforms to the recommendations, just as the results interpretation. Conclusion: Ongoing training about gestational diabetes screening during pregnancy could be useful to the obstetrics professionals carrying out pregnancy monitoring.
