Comment sensibiliser les élèves aux discriminations raciales ?

Abstract : Training the future citizen is one of the objectives of the Republican School. It is in this orientation that our work on this sequence is inserted, the aim of which is to offer a reflection on the means to be implemented in order to make students aware of the issue of racial discrimination in interdisciplinary work. The use of a youth album is one of the keys to entry into this subject, allowing the speech to be adapted to the age and maturity of the students, and then to move towards a discussion, the keystone of which is the outfit. of a debate on racism. This discussion allows students to express their representations and to the teacher to help them correct them when they are wrong. This validation, through the creation of a poster, makes it possible to verify that the students have assimilated what racial discrimination is and that they are able to differentiate it from harassment. Overall, the students understood the concept well, but with the introduction of remote work due to the confinement, we observe that the influence of parents is felt in the making of the posters and leads to interpretations.
