Les différenciations pédagogiques en français au service de la réussite de chacun

Abstract : At the start of the 2019 school year, the Minister of National Education Jean-Michel Blanquer affirmed the objectives for the year: "Indeed, more than ever, to project itself with confidence towards the future, our Nation needs a successful School of the Republic."(MEN, 2019). In this drive for a successful school, teachers must more than ever be innovative in monitoring students to facilitate accessto learning. For too long, the expression "Diversity of audiences" in schools has been opposed to success at school. That is why teachers accept the challenge of including allophone and/or non-reading students in the classroom (Dupriez et al., 2004). As aresult of changes in societies, the concept of "living together" is fully in keeping with this movement towards inclusive education and the creation of heterogeneous classes, in which pupils from different backgrounds, cultures or beliefs will rub shoulders and come together in this place of interculturality, which is the Republican School. The School of Confidence has the following objective: "To train both good readers and active readers with a taste for reading is one of the fundamental missions of the School."(MEN, 2018). Pedagogical differentiation (Meirieu, 1989) is recognized as the concern to take care of a person's own needs without giving up thinking about the classroom group. The teacher then ensures that each student learns and achieves the same objective but in a way that is adapted to each one. The paths that lead to knowledge are different and cognitively adapted to each one to promote success. Based on the national assessments for CE1 pupils (proposed by the French National Education) proposed in September, we can prevent school difficulties and respond in a personalised way in the first years of learning to read. A second measure is proposed during the same period to evaluate the well-being of these pupils. The question of school well-being s interesting since the assessments are based solely on cognitive practices (knowledge and know-how), which is why it is important to ask the pupils about their experiences (knowing how to be) and their well-being at school as pupils with difficulties. The work of Canvel et al. (2018) shows the importance of linking well-being and school performance. This first phase allows us to propose pedagogical differentiation to allophone and/or non-reading students in order to develop their literacy (Dubé et al., 2016) and their knowledge in French through didactic contributions in reading. These two measures (national assessments and the well-being scale) will be administered at the end of the year in order to analyze a possible evolution in reading following the pedagogical differentiation proposed by the teacher. Our problem can be formulated as follows: In what way(s) does the pedagogical differentiation in French proposed by a second grade teacher to allophone and/or non-reading students promote success for each student? This data analysis will enable us to complete the scientific literature.
