Fiches pratiques sur la maintenance des prothèses implantaires fixes ou amovibles

Abstract : Dental implants are a reliable treatment for the replacement of missing teeth: implant prostheses, which are fixed or removable, can be used to rehabilitate all types of missing theeth, while improving the quality of life for patients. However, in spite of high success rates, complications can occur: they are biological or mechanical. To prevent these complications and to ensure the longevity of these prosthetic restorations, maintenance sessions must be organized as soon as the treatment plan is drawn up. The aim of this thesis is to establish clinical protocol sheets for the maintenance of different types of implant prostheses, including fixed or removable, partial or complete restorations. After a literature review, there is no strict consensus on the frequency and sequence of prosthetic maintenance sessions for each type of implant prosthetic. However, this work has enabled to propose some recommendations for the prevention of complications and annual clinical maintenance protocols for single or plural fixed implant prosthetics, for complete fixed implant prosthetics and finally for implant overdentures.
