Gestion du risque de lésion du nerf alvéolaire inférieur en implantologie orale

Abstract : Due to its anatomical location, inferior alveolar nerve is one of the main sources of iatrogenic complications in implantology in the posterior mandibular sector. Despite the fact that it may have a significant impact on the patient's quality of life, there are few studies analyzing the incidence of this type of event. However, in the most recent publications it appears that NAI lesions in implantology are not rare. A synthesis of all information needed for their management has been produced, particularly procedures to be followed depending on the symptoms and the speed of treatment. It seems important to detail the available therapeutic alternatives which will prevent damage to the inferior alveolar nerve, especially in case of posterior vertical bone insufficiency. In order to give to the practitioner a clear and synthetic vision necessary for the prevention and management of this type of injury, all this information will then be summarized in the form of decision trees.
