Les limites prothétiques profondes : la remontée de marge et l'adhésion : revue systématique de la littérature

Abstract : With the latest evolvements in dental procedures, deep margin elevation is one technique in our arsenal of minimally invasive dentistry. It allows the coronal repositionning of deep prosthetic margins in order to obtain an environnement more compatible with adhesive restaurations. Based on a scientific literature review, the aim of our study is to compare the survival of indirect restorations with and without a deep margin elevation technique. Our hypothesis is that indirect restoration tooth survival depends neither on the deep margin elevation technique, nor on the cervical margin elevation technique. In this paper, we will first define the deep margin elevation technique and its procedure. Then we will conduct a literature review based on 22 scientific articles PubMed, DOSS and Scopus were used for the literature review. And finally, we will go through a case report. Inclusion criteria were: topic about indirect restoration as final restoration, topic about the deep margin elevation technique, topic about deep margins, and language [studies published in English and French]. Exclusion criteria were: theses, literature reviews, papers published before 2010, and topic about another type of final restoration than indirect restoration. This review suggests that indirect restaurations with marginal elevation have a similar survival rate as those without elevation. Furthermore, since case reports results are encouraging, the use of this technique can be recommended.
