Simplification des maillages issus de photogrammétrie en vue de leur intégration dans des logiciels dédiés à la visite virtuelle

Abstract : The work consists in reducing as much as possible the complexity of a mesh while preserving its geometrical quality. A method based on a planar region extraction process and an edge collapse by decimation process leads to a mesh simplification. The analysis of the mesh quality makes it possible to validate the method. The results showed that the majority of the geometric déviation values is less than 5 cm from the original model. The triangles quality is improved after simplification but is not optimal since it is not taken into account by the decimation algorithm. The returned mesh remains extremely simplified while maintaining a certain precision. It is possible to integrate it into a software dedicated to virtual visit.
