Optimisation du plurilinguisme et comparaisons translinguistiques chez les apprenants chinois du français

Abstract : Many studies in third language acquisition discuss the advantages for multilingual students in learning a foreign language. Multilingualism is a common situation all over the world. In this research paper, as part of research-action methodology, we study how French as a Foreign Language teachers could use this multilingualism in the learning/acquisition processes of the expression of past temporality, with a particular interest in Chinese learners of French. In a qualitative approach, we analyze the field’s characteristics and conduct a diagnostic analysis of the cross-linguistic influences in the learning/acquisition processes of the expression of past temporality, based on oral data collected in a pseudo-longitudinal study. At the end of this diagnostic phase, we formulate hypotheses in agreement with the scientific literature to develop an action plan. It uses cross-linguistic comparisons to encourage positive transfers and limit negative transfers. The results are then discussed and compared with other similar studies.
