L’action culturelle, un outil de cohésion sociale et de développement pour les territoires par la pratique artistique

Abstract : Cultural actions, the offspring of popular education movements, are invading the field of cultural mediation. As tools of predilection in raising awareness of contemporary art, it is appropriate here to question what they can bring more to our society. The very essence of the emergence of cultural policies seems to be concomitant with the need for public authorities to nation-build and tighten the social fabric. It is then a question of questioning cultural action as a tool for social cohesion participating in the development of territories in the same way as a territorial development strategy. It is also a question of understanding how cultural actions effect a shift in the place of the spectator through artistic practice. This practice in collaboration with the artist becomes a real programme of mutual upliftment. So it is interesting to understand the mechanisms that make collaborative artistic practice a tool to strengthen territorial belonging and initiate the phenomenon of tourist staycation.
