Extraction des premières molaires permanentes atteintes de l’hypominéralisation molaire-incisive : le point de vue de l’orthodontiste

Abstract : The most frequently encountered enamel abnormality is molar-incisor hypomineralization or MIH. Part of this disease is treated with the extraction of the first permanent molars. These treatment decisions are based on the evolution of the MIH and the evolution of the second permanent molars. To obtain a good occlusion, the orthodontist will face the problem of placing the second permanent molars and also the wisdom teeth. Wisdom teeth, the evolution of which is often uncertain, are not considered when deciding whether to remove the first permanent molars. Through studying the literature and presentation of clinical cases, we will detail these issues and propose new guidelines.
