Caractérisation et évaluation des potentialités bioclimatiques des logements collectifs de la 2e moitié du XXe siècle

Abstract : This work was developed as part of the Smart French research project, which aims to establish an accurate knowledge of the post-war housing stock for operational perspective. The latter is part of the interdepartmental program of research and experimentation in architecture 2016-2020, called "Architecture of the twentieth century, subject to project for the sustainable city of the 21st century." It will attempt to define a new approach to the thermal improvement of housing buildings built in the post-war period, which is an important part of the current housing stock in France. Indeed, these buildings constitute a considerable reservoir of energy savings and at the same time present a singular and fragile aesthetic. However, the current modes of intervention show their weaknesses by leading to watertight buildings where all the thermal devices are mechanized, putting the man away from his environment. The initial qualities of existing buildings are therefore not exploited because they are reduced to standard categories resulting in interventions that are of little relevance from an economic, environmental, heritage or social point of view. While being in the continuity of the work carried out in 2017 on the solar orientations, the objective of this work is to describe the buildings of the glorious Thirties from the point of view of the bioclimatic characteristics (energy management, solar flows and natural ventilation). This work aims at deepening the knowledge on the bioclimatic potentialities which could be inherent to collective housing of the corpus. For that, we will build indicators allowing a statistical approach on a pattern of projects of the Smart French database, previously selected through the studies carried out on the solar orientations and the quantity of available information. These indicators will characterize their potential to capture solar energy, store it in their constructive devices, diffuse it into the interior space, or dissipate it through natural ventilation.
